The Past

Heritage & Foundation

Baltech’s roots trace back to the early 2000s in Azerbaijan, where our chairman Bülent Karani began his career supporting regional infrastructure and logistics projects. Leveraging deep knowledge in international risk management and transportation systems, he played a consultative role in cross-border initiatives and government advisory efforts. In 2003, Mr. Karani founded 3A LLC, Azerbaijan’s first company to focus on road safety engineering, signage, and galvanised infrastructure components, the unofficial start of what would evolve into the Baltech Group.

Our Legacy of Achievement

In its formative years, Baltech became known for its involvement in some of Azerbaijan's most significant transport and civil infrastructure initiatives. These included major contributions to road safety measures, hot-dip galvanisation, and reflective signage across national highways, as well as strategic collaborations with European engineering companies. Notably, Baltech Group played an essential role in the founding and direction of Azerinshaatservis MMC, which delivered over 40 large-scale infrastructure projects, including World Bank-financed works.
Over two decades, Baltech-affiliated companies such as 3A LLC, Azerinshaatservis, have made Baltech a key stakeholder in Azerbaijan’s infrastructure and transport ecosystem. Landmark projects include Baku–Sumgayit Highway, Hacigabul–Kurdamir Highway, Elet–Astara Highway, Baku Ring Road, Baku–Russian Border Motorway and the Georgia leg of the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars Railway.
